Gas Up and Cool Down

- Gasing up and cooling down service for VLGC

Purge existing cargo tank content (e.g. Nitrogen Gas, other product vapor) until Nitrogen requirement by the next cargo e.g. LPG 2%, VCM 1%.

Once the product vapor reaches 99% or better, stop the purging (venting off the Nitrogen plus product vapor) and pressurize to say, 1 barg.

Use liquid of the product to “cool” the cargo tank by flowing through the spray bar inside the cargo tank. Once the temperature of the cargo tank is cooled down to the desired level, operation is stopped.

SSBCEPL provides Nitrogen gas-free services, gassing up and cool down services for refrigerated Propane, refrigerated Ethylene and Propylene.

Cryogenic Valve Testing

- To determine degree of valve leak
- Tests conducted under cryogenic environment
- ½ inch to 24 inch diameter valves

During the cryogenic valve testing, the valve is placed under cryogenic conditions to determine the degree of leakages.

SSBCEPL is able to perform such tests on valves with diameters ranging from ½ inch to 24 inches.

  Tank Purging

Tank Inerting

- Fit for loading at terminal
- Carried out after dry-docking in shipyard

This process is generally carried out after the vessel dry-docking in shipyard before they proceed to the next loading terminal for loading of cargo. Normally, a surveyor would be engaged to issue a certificate of the tank gas content to certify fit for loading at the terminal.

Change of Cargo

- For loading of a different cargo after previous one
- Purge cargo tank to new specified requirement

Occasionally, when the vessel is required to load a different cargo after its previous one, the requirement of the gas content in the cargo tank will be more stringent. Thus, it is necessary to purge the cargo tank to the new specified requirement of gas content as needed by the next loading terminal. For this case, a surveyor would also be engaged to certify the tank readiness with a certificate.

Tank Blanketing

- Serviced on loaded cargo tanks
- For safe execution of hot work after loading
- Reduce risks of tank explosion

Generally, this process is done onto cargo tanks that are loaded, as in the case hot work that is needed to be done on deck. The nitrogen gas serves as a layer of blanket over the cargo inside the tank so that hot work can be carried out safely on the deck. This reduces the risk of tank explosion or other unexpected accidents.

Gas Digester Purging

- Continuous injection of inert gases into digesters
- Bring down tank to desired oxygen/nitrogen level
- Tank free from dangerous gases

SSB is also actively participating in various purging projects for Public Utilities Board. These include purging of their Digester tank, pipelines and Gas tanks.

LNG Global Testing

- To test integrity of LNG vessels' membrane cargo tanks
- Check on operational status of tanks
- Can be carried out during ship docking or out at anchorage

Global test is a specialized non-destructive test designed specially to test the integrity of the primary and secondary barriers of LNG vessels’ membrane cargo tanks.

These tests are carried out to check on the operational status of the cargo tanks, during vessel docking, or as part of warrantee docking.

We provide manpower and equipment to support both primary and secondary barrier global tests. These tests can be carried out during ship docking at shipyards or out at anchorage.

Pipeline Freezing

- To modify pipes without disrupting operations
- To repair air-ducts in buildings

Often, hotels and shopping centers are required to modify or repair certain air duct/water pipelines in the building without shutting off the main valve.

SSBCEPL shall propose the best solutions for our customers so as to provide minimum disruption to customers' operations and at the same time complete the project smoothly.

Helium Leak Test

- Leak test with Helium for LNG and LPG vessels
- To detect leaks on wall of cargo tanks

SSBCEPL provides helium leak test for LNG and LPG vessels

Leaks can contribute to consequences from safety and economical aspects. Therefore it is important to localize and remove leaks as early as possible.

Helium leak tests are carried out to detect leaks on the walls of the cargo tanks using helium leak detectors.

Sensitivity of our leak detectors are up to 10-7 atm.cc/s
